Dear Reader, Sometimes, what we've been searching for is right under our nose ... As I approached the milestone of 300 episodes of "workshops work", I took a step back to reflect on how you and other listeners access the knowledge hidden in all these conversations. For 300 weeks, I’ve been creating maps and summaries, trying to make the body of work easier to navigate. But recently, I stumbled upon something beautifully simple: the Buzzsprout search function. With just a keyword, you can find inspiration on the topic that's on top of your mind at the moment. This discovery helped me realise something important: the maps I’ve been creating don’t serve the user as much as I had hoped. By trying to optimise everything, I may have overlooked what really matters: accessibility over complexity. Facilitation, at its core, means making things easy. And we must keep this in mind in everything we do - even outside the meeting room. What changes and what remains the same:
So here we are: 300 episodes of conversations, insights, and wisdom, now easier to access than ever. By embracing the tools already available, I’m simplifying the process and putting usability first—so we can all stand on the shoulders of giants to do the work that really matters. Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support, feedback, and curiosity fuel this podcast every week. 🎙 Meanwhile, on the podcast… To celebrate my podcast tercentenary, I sit down with my microphone for an introspective, behind-the-scenes episode, just me, myself and I, to reflect on the years as a podcast host and facilitator. Episode 300 is a celebration - of facilitation, of journeys, and of learnings. I share my story, the things I’d tell my younger podcast-self, and the wisdom nuggets I’ve collected along the way. Thank you for sharing this journey with me! Find out about:

I'm a recovering academic who uses her insights from behavioural economics to develop methods that facilitate collaboration. In my weekly newsletter, I share the summary of my latest interview on the "workshops work" podcast along with an application of facilitation as a life and leadership skill.
Dear Reader, Five weeks, 18 workshops, hundreds of participants. When I first began delivering my Psychological Safety workshop to groups of varying sizes, nationalities, and cultures, I thought I had it down. I knew the content inside out—or so I believed. But here’s what surprised me: mastery isn’t just about knowing. It’s about refining. Repetition is the path to get there. At the start, I struggled to fit everything into two hours—the content, my anecdotes, and the participants’...
Dear Reader, When was the last time you asked for help? It’s a question that often hits closer to home than we’d like to admit. Many of us avoid reaching out—not because help isn’t available, but because it feels vulnerable. I know this feeling all too well. In early 2021, fresh off the first NeverDoneBefore festival, I found myself in a whirlwind of emotions. The event had been an extraordinary success—so much so that participants were buzzing with ideas for what could come next. They...
Dear Reader, In the afterglow of the NeverDoneBefore (NDB) Festival, one thought remains very present: The relevance of guiding principles or organisational values in driving our culture and everyday decision-making. Because let's be honest: We’ve all seen company values displayed proudly on walls, websites, or meeting slides. Inspiring? Maybe. Impactful? Rarely. Too often, these words remain ornamental, detached from the daily decisions and interactions that shape an organisation’s culture....
